Varoški Amarcord is a 4-episode documentary series (2018) directed by Ivan Živković Žika. Inspired by Fellini's Amarcord, the series paints nostalgic portraits of Dalmatian "varoši" - the old neighborhoods of Šibenik, Split, Sinj and Zadar - through personal memories, local legends, cultural figures and the transformation from rural roots to urban life. The Šibenik episode featuring Arsen Dedić, Vice Vukov and Mišo Kovač from the same street became legendary.

I served as sound recordist on the Zadar episode (and part of the wider team), capturing clear dialogue, authentic environmental layers and the living atmosphere of the varoš to support the nostalgic and humorous tone of the series.

Sound approach: Naturalistic and intimate sound design - prioritizing clarity of voices, subtle ambient textures of the old neighborhoods and minimal intervention so that the real stories, laughter and silence carry the emotional weight.
