Overview
I joined the production for several shooting days, recording location sound as part of the documentary's production.
Directed by Damir Markovina and produced by Wolfgang&Dolly, this 75-minute feature documentary follows Markovina's family three decades after the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina. At its centre is his father, Roko Markovina, a socialist member of parliament whose anti-nationalist convictions and vote against the Dayton Peace Agreement carried a lasting political and personal cost.
Through conversations between Roko, his wife Zina and their sons, the film explores exile, memory, divided families and the difficult work of living with decisions made during war. It had its world premiere in the Competition Programme — Documentary Film at the 32nd Sarajevo Film Festival.
The film won the 2026 UniCredit Audience Award for Best Documentary Film with a perfect audience rating of 5.000.
